oakland, shootings left several people dead. they include a 14-year-old girl. >> reporter: that's right, one was transported to hyland hospital. his condition is unknown. the violence started at a liquor store but they are investigating three different locations and here is why. we can tell you the violence started in the parking lot of this liquor store. officers found two men shot and one man died and the scene, another man was transported to hyland. police got a call at 73rd and weld. she and her teenage daughter just happened to be driving down during the shootout and the 14-year-old was shot in the leg. she drove to the closest intersection she felt safe and the teen is expected to be

okay. then around 10:20 more than an hour after, they got a call to brook dale. the woman was not shot in her home and police are wondering why she waited so long to call for help. we have a call to oakland police to get more information about the shooting and we are looking into who the suspects or suspect is in the shooting. another man was killed at a shooting at a different liquor store. this happened 1020 and witnesses said that man was shot several times as he walked out of that store. he waited for him then started shooting. clean uppers went off the

tracks. investigators are out there trying to figure out whether it was driver error or something else. a train derailed yesterday afternoon and nearly 170 people were on board including a newborn baby. >> the baby flew on the other side. >> it was extra loud. .. >> now the tracks will be closed during the the investigation. relatives found the body on the beach of pigeon point at 6:30. 55-year-old ping tao tsang and 65-year-old carl deng

disappeared after their small boat flipped over. two other men were wearing life jackets and they made it to sure safely. they may be abandoning hope, antigen rales in afghanistan gave up hope with the taliban. they hope the afghans can work out something once they leave. it is important that pakistan's don'tment can approved a household deal. according to the tax policy center, automatic tax hikes and spending is set to go into effect in january. a bipartisan group of centers is working on a plan to put off cuts while addressing the deficit. lawmakers say no action will be taken until after november.

. welcome back to the ktvu channel 2 morning news. take a look at that, that is an intense heat which kept firefighters busy at a warehouse in canada. it started yesterday afternoon at speedway international which a company that sells meth not for racing. early this morning, they got that fire under control and people were allowed to return to their homes. back here in the contra costa district, they are reaching out to fill nearly 30 jobs, that is thanks to a 7.8 million dollars grant. in july they had to eliminate 15 positions because of a proposed parcel tax and the grant is now hoping to fill those spots and 12 more. they also may reopen 12 fire stations that were forced to close in july. they are taking a break and

moving well to the golden gate bridge, let's go back to the desk. in overnight news, two people are dead three injured after multiple shootings in oakland. lorraine blanco is at hyland hospital where one of the victims was taken. good morning lorraine. >> reporter: good morning. his condition is unknown at this time and a 14-year-old is getting treated for a gunshot wound to her leg. police are not releasing a lot of details but we can tell you the violence started in the parking lot that the liquor store on mcarthur. one man died on scene, another man was wounded and transported to hyland. now a few minutes later police got a call to 73rd and wells. she and her teenage daughter just happened to be driving down the street and her 14-year- old was shot in the leg. the mom drove to the closest

police are investigating those shootings. a man has been missing for more 2 -- more than two weeks. the family wants your help to find him. >> reporter: well a vigil is planned at sacred heart and family and friends of eric garcia are desperate to find him because he has a heart condition they say and he is without his medication. here is a picture of the 32- year-old and garcia was last seen in the area of vine and good year. he was attending a party and told them before midnight he would be right back and left on his harley davidson motorcycle. he has not been seen since. he weighs 350 pounds, has short brown hair and a goatee and has a harley davidson symbol. they are trying to get the word

out and they are running out of ideas. garcia has a driver's license plate and if you have any information you are asked to call san jose police. there will be a candle light vigil and family and friends will be lighting candles and saying a prayer for his safe return. reporting live from san jose, jeanine della vega ktvu channel 2 morning news. a truck fire in oakland, it was a distraction for early morning drivers near 62nd and bancroft. this public works truck caught fire at 4:00 a.m. it was parked on the side of the road when the fire broke out and nobody was inside. the cause of that truck fire is still under investigation. in just a few hours they

will hold a news conference to talk about a teacher facing serious charges. 28-year-old was found dead inside a parked car. he was arrested accused of molesting a student. despite that students have set up a memorial. >> he leaves for school early, he has been active with noon activities with coaching and it is a nice family parents are wonderful people and it is a very tragic situation. >> grieve counselors will be made available on campus to help students cope with his death. a man accused of trying to abduct a nine-year-old is scheduled to face a judge today. >> he is set to be arraigned on

charges including trespassing and they say he grabbed a nine- year-old and the girl now the back and managed to get away. oakland city council is bracing for what could be another disruptive meeting. they ended the other meeting early after supporters of alan blueford took over the proceedings. alan blueford was shot and killed back in may and family members say they will be back at city hall tonight and will be demanding to see the report. they are demanding their rights to speak out after city council is preventing any up runs. they still have no electricity. more than 4,000 customers lost power. is it started 8:00 p.m. and they are investigating what

. all right steve good morning welcome back, here is a look at some of the top stories we are following, a violent night in oakland ended with two fatal shootings three people wounded including a teenage girl. it happened last night in the parking lot of a liquor store on 90th avenue. one man was killed another man was wounded as they sat in the

car. a 14-year-old was wounded in her leg by a stray bullet and a woman was wounded in her arm. about an hour later another man was killed at another store on mcarthur boulevard. cleanup efforts after a horrible amtrak train crash which was headed to oakland from bakersfield. it crashed into a big-rig and derailed. investigation continues this morning. and celebrating the oakland a's, they are going to the playoffs. they beat the texas rangers and they have claimed a wildcard spot in the playoffs, but they also have a chance to be division champs in they beat them today and tomorrow. six crew members from passenger boats that collided

the murder trial of giselle esteban who is accused of killing nursing student michelle le. they say it was a killing because she was planning on killing her because of her dating the father of her daughter. there are conversations with where giselle esteban threatened michelle le. >> they know every location she has been in over the past couple of years. >> michelle le was last seen at kaiser permanente. her body was found in a can beyond four months later. we are following breaking news coming in from arizona. authorities are saying one u.s. border patrol act has been

it crashed into the zen restaurant, a couple of people were hurt but no serious injuries and witnesses say the driver was elderly. investigators are now looking into what caused that crash. a school bus collided with a van. it happened before 5:00 near mt. herman road. no children were on board the bus at the time. the driver was airlifted to stanford hospital. more than 400 homicides this year, that is up 2 5% from the same time last year. according to police, the murder rate has slowed down since the summer. back here in the area, they have approved the strict esteban and it would apply to all parks on multi- family
